So decided to dive straight in to the world of blog posts. Not sure what start with but suppose would be best start with something I know about and also have an interest in; Main interests include:
Comics
Games
Movies
Batman
And batman
To start my first post I won’t jump straight into my main interest batman I will leave that for another point if I find blogging interesting. Any way I think I’ll start with zombies, linking it in with comics through the series called the walking dead. I got interested in the series most likely the start of last year. I always had an interest in zombies, through George A Remeros films. Particularly dawn of the dead the original one which I seen at a young age when I shouldn’t have been allowed to see them kind of films. What I always liked from that film was the fact of an empty supermarket, I taught the idea was awesome as a child, just being able to go through a supermarket taking what you like and not getting in trouble over it.
The affects in the movie at the time weren’t the greatest(basically actors covered with talcum powder, so not very scary) It wasn’t until I seen the evil dead that I saw the scary looking sides of zombie; again another horror film seen at a young age and it hasnt done me any harm. But they where terrifying looking zombies, what hit me bit more in this movie was the fact that it was your friends that where turning into the zombies(maybe was cause I was bit older bit wiser I didn’t realise this from dawn of the dead, of course a little wiser being 14 years old instead of 13) anyway later on seeing more zombie movies and reading the walking dead, you have to wonder how far would you go to save your friends/family and or yourself.
In the walking dead the central character goes to extereme ways to protect his family and his “group”. But of course could you yourself go to extreme ends to save the people you love or just try save yourself.. Of course your never going to know till your in a situation like that but am pretty sure a lot of us see ourselves like the action hero type person who will save everyone and find the cure to save world from the rise of the undead. This is why am most intrigued about the walking dead as it is an ongoing comic series so we’re always wondering what’s going to happen with the main guy called rick and where his story will go and will it ever end?
After spending most of this blog discussing zombies and not the comic series the walking dead, I think it’s best to just say if you have an interest in zombie movies and anything I’ve said, that I highly recommend picking it up even if it’s just volume 1 of the graphic novels so you can get a feel for it and the this world that is still ongoing and is up to volume 15 with 16 on the way soon. The art is black and white and just suits the tone of the series so well. I know that if you have no interest in comics and might only have heard of the walking dead through the tv series which I admit is very good, but also distinguishes itself from the comic series through different stories and new characters. Than just try out volume 1, also at this time we know through several different graphic novels that there not just for kids and aren’t called comics but graphic novels. I couldn’t recommend the walking dead any more if you have an interest at all in zombies..
